In today's society a lot of people don't want to admit that domestic abuse happens, but it does.   It happens to people irrelevant of their sex, age, gender, background, disability, culture, or religion.  It could be a mum, daughter, sister, auntie, nan, sister-in-law, niece, mother-in-law - in short it can, and does, happen to anyone.  Domestic abuse is all about power and control and happens in many different forms such as physical abuse, mental abuse, sexual abuse and financial abuse too.
